У статті зроблено спробу охарактеризувати роль внутрішкільної методичної роботи як однієї з найбільш активних та результативних форм у процесі підвищення кваліфікації вчителів початкової школи. У всі часи іноземної окупації Західної України влада вважала школи засобом денаціоналізації населення, утвердження своєї імперської політики на окупованих територіях. Зміст освіти і виховання в них відповідав політиці поневолення українського народу, позбавлення його історичної пам’яті, національної свідомості. Українське населення тримали у культурному занепаді. Незважаючи на історичні процеси, які наклали відбиток на розвиток освіти, в тому числі на підвищення кваліфікації педагогічних працівників, методична робота у школі здійснювалася практично постійно і найбільш повно враховувала запити та потреби вчителів, динамічно реагувала на потреби педагогічної практики. Її зміст визначався загальними цілями державної політики в галузі освіти і конкретними завданнями, що стосувалися колективу загалом чи педагогічного працівника зокрема.

The article attempts to characterize the role of in-school methodical work as one of the most active and effective forms in the process of professional development of primary school teachers. At all times of the foreign occupation of Western Ukraine, the authorities considered schools as means of denationalizing of the population, asserting their imperial policy in the occupied territories. The content of education and upbringing there corresponded to the policy of enslavement of the Ukrainian people, deprivation of its historical memory, and national consciousness. The Ukrainian population was kept in cultural decline. But despite the historical processes that have left their mark on the development of education, and the teacher training as well – the methodical work at school was carried out almost constantly and fully took into account the requests and needs of teachers, dynamically responding to the needs of pedagogical practice. Its content was determined by the general objectives of state policy in the field of education and specific tasks related to the team or the teacher in particular.
